Type: Blends Roast: Light Weight: 9 Grams Shape: 62mm Flat Top Cafejo's refreshing and bright Breakfast Blend coffee pods are uplifting and delicious with a sweet and mellow finish. Round #01 Even this is not the first cup of coffee today, and it is actually mid-day I decided to try this breakfast blend. Bitter, or maybe that's just the crema. A couple of sips in and I withdraw the bitter claim. There is some sweetness to it, but the acidity overwhelms it. I'm not sure why this is supposed to be a good breakfast blend. When I think about coffee as a wake up product, I think: Black, dark, powerful.. this is the opposite. Guess the audience for this is people who prefer the gentle way of waking up. To be fair, I'll give it another shot with 7 oz. Maybe I'll even try it to breakfast. Round #02 I would normally not review the first cup of coffee in the morning, doing an exception here to see if it's really a breakfast blend. More bite at 7 oz. But as last cup, that was only the first couple of sips. Either are my taste-buds asleep or the 7 oz setting made this coffee sweeter. Can hardly spot any particular flavor besides "coffee". Less water moved this pod up from anonymous, boring and watery to anonymous and OK. Round #03 The previous cup I had today was Dark Side from The Coffee Artisan. Might not be fair, but I let it pass. For some reason I think there is a hint of wood hidden deep in the flavors. Nope, this is not going into my regular rotation. There is so much good coffee out there. Anyway, it's not bad so I have to give it 3 Score: 3 |
